Occupations assessed by ASMIRT

Medical imaging and radiation therapy occupations including medical radiographers, radiation therapists, and sonographers.

Key Occupations

Medical Radiographer (Medical Diagnostic Radiographer), Radiation Therapist, Sonographer.

Always verify the designated assessing authority for your specific ANZSCO occupation code on the Department of Home Affairs skilled occupation list before applying.

Assessment requirements

Experience-based assessment model

ASMIRT requires demonstrated clinical experience, being at least two of the last five years of good clinical experience, alongside English-language evidence. This makes the assessment more than a paper qualification check. Both recent practice and academic qualifications are considered.

Evidence and English requirements

Applicants must provide qualification records, evidence of recent clinical practice, and acceptable English-language results. Documentation completeness directly affects how long the assessment takes. Gaps in clinical experience evidence will delay or prevent a successful outcome.

Two assessment tracks

Two tracks exist: a full Overseas Qualifications Assessment and a faster pre-approved-course route at lower cost. Dual-modality applications add $500 to the fee. Unsuccessful applicants have three years from the rejection letter to reapply with upgraded qualifications.

Outcome validity

ASMIRT does not separately state a validity period for its outcome. The general Department of Home Affairs rule applies, under which a skills assessment is ordinarily usable for three years from the date of issue. Confirm currency before lodging a visa application.

Why Visa Plan for your skill assessment with ASMIRT?

Occupation confirmation

We confirm the correct CSOL occupation title and the designated assessing authority for your specific role before you apply, avoiding the cost of an incorrect application.

Application preparation

A complete, well-prepared application reduces the risk of delay or adverse outcome. We advise on documentation requirements, employment reference content, and how to present your qualifications and experience.

Migration strategy

A positive skills assessment is a prerequisite, not a migration plan. We build your complete migration strategy from the assessment through to visa grant or permanent residence.
