Occupations assessed by Australian Computer Society (ACS)

ICT professional occupations including software engineering, cyber security, database administration, network engineering, and ICT management.

Key Occupations

Software Engineer, Cyber Security Engineer, ICT Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, DevOps Engineer, Database Administrator.

Always verify the designated assessing authority for your specific ANZSCO occupation code on the Department of Home Affairs skilled occupation list before applying.

Assessment requirements

Documentary pathway assessment

ACS conducts a documentary assessment of qualifications and work experience. The pathway is selected according to the applicant circumstances, being General Skills, Qualification Only, Post Australian Study or Recognition of Prior Learning.

Pathway and evidence

Applicants supply academic transcripts and employment evidence appropriate to the chosen pathway. The applicable fee is paid up front to open the application.

Appeals process

A two-level paid appeal process is available where an applicant disputes the result. A Level 1 appeal and, if needed, a Level 2 appeal each carry a separate fee.

Validity of the outcome

ACS does not state a fixed validity period for the assessment. The general Department of Home Affairs rule that a skills assessment must be no more than three years old when relied upon applies.

Why Visa Plan for your skill assessment with Australian Computer Society (ACS)?

Occupation confirmation

We confirm the correct CSOL occupation title and the designated assessing authority for your specific role before you apply, avoiding the cost of an incorrect application.

Application preparation

A complete, well-prepared application reduces the risk of delay or adverse outcome. We advise on documentation requirements, employment reference content, and how to present your qualifications and experience.

Migration strategy

A positive skills assessment is a prerequisite, not a migration plan. We build your complete migration strategy from the assessment through to visa grant or permanent residence.
