Australian Computer Society (ACS)

ACS applies detailed rules to employment evidence. The employment references page requires each reference on company letterhead, signed and dated by an authorised person with full name, position, phone number and work email, and stating start and end dates in DD/MM/YYYY format, employment status, minimum hours worked per week, annual salary, location of work and bullet point duties. References that copy duties from ANZSCO descriptions or from another reference are not accepted, and references that do not meet every requirement are not assessed. Where a reference cannot be obtained, ACS accepts a statutory declaration or affidavit with supporting employer and payment evidence.

Only employment of at least 20 hours per week, paid, at the skill level of the nominated occupation and commenced after age 18 is counted, and only one job may be claimed for any period, with overlapping roles recorded as concurrent, per the experience evidence page. Every suitable letter includes a Skill Level Requirement Met Date; only work completed after that date is treated as skilled employment, and the experience used to meet the suitability criteria is excluded, according to the Skill Level Requirement Met Date page.

Suitable outcomes are valid for two years, and ACS does not currently offer outcome reassessment or renewal, per the assessment process page. Applications are lodged through the online portal, may be completed within 90 days of starting, and any applicant with a visa deadline under 12 weeks is treated as a priority automatically at no charge, per the application process page. Documents must be original colour scans at 300 dpi or better; certified true copies and black and white scans are not accepted, as the General Skills document checklist states.
