What the Pork Industry Labour Agreement provides
The Pork Industry Labour Agreement covers Senior Stockperson (Piggery), for up to four years or permanent residence, on the Skills in Demand visa (subclass 482), the Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 494) and, after a three year transition period, the Employer Nomination Scheme visa (subclass 186). There is no ANZSCO code for the occupation and code 070499 is used when nominating.
The worker needs an AQF Certificate III in Agriculture (Pig Production) with at least 18 months of relevant work experience in Australia, or five years of recent and relevant experience. English for the subclass 482 visa is the Core Skills stream standard; a worker who does not meet the subclass 186 or 494 English requirement is taken to have sufficient English with IELTS 5.0 overall and at least 4.5 in each of the four components, or equivalent.
Concessions follow the piggery’s regional location. Subclass 186 and 494 applicants in Category 2 and 3 locations must be under 55 at the time of application, while Category 1 applicants meet the standard age rule, and earnings in Category 3 locations may be 90% of the TSMIT.
