Assessment requirements

Criteria-based assessment model

ANMAC uses a criteria-based assessment that does not require any tests of clinical knowledge. The criteria cover identity, education and training, work experience, and registration and certification. The outcome reflects how the applicant measures against these criteria rather than examination performance.

Evidence and English requirements

Applicants must provide documentary evidence across each assessment criterion. For the Full Skills Assessment an accepted English-language test result less than two years old is also required. Identity, qualification and registration documents must be current and verifiable.

Three assessment tiers

Three assessment tiers exist at different fees: Modified, Direct Care and Full Skills Assessment. The appropriate tier depends on the applicant's qualifications and intended pathway. Selecting the correct tier at the outset avoids delays and additional cost.

Outcome validity is non-standard

The ANMAC outcome letter is valid for two years from the date of issue. This is shorter than the usual three-year period applied to most skills assessments. Applicants should plan their visa lodgement so the assessment remains valid at the time of application.

Why Visa Plan for your skill assessment with ANMAC?

Occupation confirmation

We confirm the correct CSOL occupation title and the designated assessing authority for your specific role before you apply, avoiding the cost of an incorrect application.

Application preparation

A complete, well-prepared application reduces the risk of delay or adverse outcome. We advise on documentation requirements, employment reference content, and how to present your qualifications and experience.

Migration strategy

A positive skills assessment is a prerequisite, not a migration plan. We build your complete migration strategy from the assessment through to visa grant or permanent residence.
