Labour Agreement Stream
The Labour Agreement Stream of the Subclass 482 Temporary Skill Shortage visa permits sponsorship of foreign workers by Australian businesses for a period of up to four (4) years in most circumstances. This business must first have entered into a labour agreement with the Australian Department of Home Affairs.
This stream may offer pathways to permanent residency, depending on the terms of the labour agreement.
Labour Agreement TSS Visa Criteria
The Labour Agreement Stream is intended to allow modifications to the general criteria applicable to the Subclass 482 visa application. The exact criteria may differ depending on the type of labour agreement to which the employer is a party.
Labour agreements may change eligibility requirements, allow sponsorship under occupations which do not appear on any skills list, or even allow sponsorship for occupations which do not appear under the Australia and New Zealand Standard Classification of Occupations (ANZSCO).
Once your TSS Visa is Granted
Whilst holding your Subclass 482 visa, you must work for your sponsoring employer on a full-time basis whilst you remain in Australia. Your spouse or partner will enjoy unrestricted work rights.
In most Australian states and territories, Subclass 482 visa holders are generally able to enroll their children into public schooling without incurring international student fees.
